Autistic Man Left in Locked Van and Dies: You Call This Care?

This is a very sad story indeed. It's unfortunate, but every summer we hear about a child left in a vehicle in the heat. The Ending is usually not pleasant. My wife and I were just commenting about this article, we agreed that our son would have stayed in the vehicle as well, waiting for that cue to get out as he's been trained.

It demonstrates that some autistic people, even when they are adults, are just toddlers in their minds. The rest of the world may not realize or care about that, but as parents it's a constant battle, and we do have nightmares about such things happening.

You can bet there will be legal action against this group home that didn't realize this person was missing for 5 hours!
